Tax Time Benefits & VideoXs

Hi Visitor

June is always a good month to consider personal, capital and software investments before rolling into the next financial year. On recent courses in both Brisbane and Perth, attendees were interested in how our VideoXs app worked and how their clients would benefit. I have for this reason included a detailed description of VideoXs. In addition to the program being fully tax deductible, it would also mean your iPhone, iPad or iPod would be - but check as always with your accountant!

Have you ever felt constrained by your drawing skills or the proforma program available in your clinic when prescribing a home exercises program?

Have you had clients come back, demonstrating 'one of your exercises', but you had never taught it!

I certainly did, and this was the genesis of VideoXs - Total Client Customisation and Total Clinician Flexibility

Your Key Benefits

  • Quick and Accurate - 5 minutes to produce a complete customised program
  • Fully Client Personalised - combine pre-formatted text with video and photographs
No stick figures, No photocopies, No out of date or ‘standard’ home exercise programs
  • Because clinicians communicate using slightly different terms, we have enabled customisation of Goals section, Problems options, Solutions options, Exercise module and format of Final output (email, PDF or print) to your client
  • Cc. automatically a copy to your clinic for client records and future reference
  • Tax deductible and so will be your iPhone/iPad/iPod

Lets walk through some of the interesting benefits......

Creating a New Exercise Program

On the 'New Program' page you add contact details, identify problems, goals and specific solutions for your client

Select 'New Program' from the Home screen. If you have previously saved a client's program it can be quickly located using the search function (say for an exercise update or past comparison).
After entering client's name and email you identify and notate key 'Problems' for your client. The Problem List is one example of the customisable features of VideoXs enabling you to use language that is specifically suited to your area(s) of practice or personal way of describing client problems.

. In Bill's case we have identified his main problems and set goals with a specific associated time frame. We then move onto his important solutions...

Bill is helping us out as we solve his back & ankle problems. You can see the areas we have identified with Bill, that are his main Problems. In conjunction with Bill, we have also established a couple of functional 'Goals' and a time frame to achieve them. You can have any number of goals over any period of time.

Having identified Bill's Problems and agreed upon his Goals, it is time to move onto how Bill will achieve this..... his 'Solutions'

The Solutions module is a key part of VideoXs. Here general (aerobic) and specific exercise are decided, exercising parameters are set, including RPE's and video footage filmed. The customised module allows that extra bit of versatility. We use it as a pre and post intervention to show clients where they were and how they have progressed, but it is customisable, meaning any exercise can be included specific to your needs

A key benefit of VideoXs is that you completely customise your client’s Solutions. Solutions are divided into the key areas identified by research to be fundamental for musculoskeletal complaints, be they acute, subacute or chronic;
+ Aerobic
+ Strength
+ Flexibility

As a BONUS we have included a customisable 'Other Exercise' module with video capability, that will be useful for a wide range of clinicians. Perhaps to include a specific program, create a baseline video before and after an intervention or a standardised program in a non musculoskeletal field e.g a vestibular program.
You also have an 'Additional Comments" section, should you want to reinforce any specific points.

The Strength page is an example of the 'Solutions Module' combining the selection of exercise parameters, and then filming footage of the client performing the exercise. Its easy to preview and retake footage if necessary before accepting it

Here you can see the 'Add Strength' module, that allows you to set parameters for the exercise and also include video or picture (import from Camera Roll or take original of client).
Taking your own video enables you to completely specify, how an exercise is performed from start to finish (plus have recorded verbal cues as they perform the exercise). A picture is better than a thousand words, but what about a video! Clients will now have a perfect example of themselves to replicate at home.

Setting up 'Aerobic Exercise' & 'Flexibility Exercise' modules are similar.

Output Options

In less time it takes to make a coffee, you have created an accurate and lasting record of your client's home exercise program. Video and stills recorded during the appointment, are combined with text & sent home to client's email. They don't need a iPhone.
The output can be an email or as an attached PDF. This option enables printing for clinic paper records storage, computer challenged clients, clients who don't have email access or if they are more comfortable with printed material.

Clinical Benefits

  • Ensures accurate client feedback - client sees themselves performing their exercise
  • Enhanced recall at home when practicing exercises
  • Flexibility - clinician can store images or video commonly used
  • Flexibility - clinician can create Templates to reuse, search previously created programs and create own lists of Problems and Customisable Exercises
  • VideoXs provides a clinical e/record of client exercises for future reference
