Module 2: The Upper Quadrant - An integrated model of torso movement

This module explores upper spinal dysfunction – and the relationship between dysfunction of the ‘core’, thorax, and proximal limb girdle and pain syndromes of the upper quadrant. It will examine the common patterns of posturo-movement which result in altered axial loading and effect spinal health. Simple posturo-movement tests point the way to specific joint and myofascial assessment and a tailored complimentary manual and movement therapy approach to rectifying the found joint and neuro-myo-fascial dysfunction. The Fundamental Patterns of the upper quadrant are presented. Exercise therapy involves correctly re-establishing these and their re-integration into functional patterns of movement and various therapeutic exercises aimed at improving upper spinal health.

Completion of Module 1 is advised before doing this module. The Friday evening workshop will summarise salient aspects of Module 1.
