Level 2 - Spine & Lower Quadrant Course

Safe & Effective Lower Quadrant Dry Needling

Level 2 - Dry Needling Advanced Spine & Lower Quadrant, is a single day course building upon knowledge gained in the Level 1- Dry Needling Introductory Course. Detailed reviews of the relevant functional and surface anatomy, tissue localisation skills & clinical examples are provided for the lumbar spine, abdomen, pelvis and lower limb. Electro-acupuncture and Gua Sha techniques are also taught.

The Level 2 modules also include;

  1. dry needling in 20022, a research update
  2. the role of hypermobility and dry needling
  3. care and consideration module when needling near the kidneys

YOU RECEIVE A 50% DISCOUNTED 2 HOUR ANATOMY WET LAB WORKSHOP. Unique amongst all dry needling courses in Australia, is the opportunity to enjoy with clinical director, Dr Doug Cary, a guided tour of the upper limb, lower limb and spinal structures in relation to dry needling. Revisit the core skill of anatomical tissue identification but from a clinical perspective. These 2 hours of a clinically focused session, are at the UWA's premiere anatomy lab, which has practitioners repeatably coming back and back to hone their anatomy skills.

Level 1 - Introductory Course - Sat/Sun

Dry Needling Course: Combined Online | Practical | Wet Lab Workshop

The Level 1 - Introductory Course is designed as a ‘taster/refresher course’ for practitioners to determine if they like the modality of dry needling or for those that may have limited experience and wishes to update prior learning. It combines online theory learning, face-to-face practical skill development, and a 2-hour wet lab to develop or review your understanding of 3D anatomy.

Muscles taught are clinically important and will enable participants’ time to develop needling technique and palpation skills. There is a very large focus on surface anatomy, tissue localisation, and knowledge of tissue at depth. Fibromyalgia is also covered. Participants that have completed this course, have fulfilled the minimum requirement of study and demonstrated competency in the techniques taught in the Level 1 - Introductory Course, enabling participants to commence dry needling immediately.

Course Component includes:

  • Online Theory & Practical Videos (10-12 hours) via AAP Education Academy
  • Practical Day Component (7/5/2022 12.45pm to 5.00pm and 8/5/2022 7.45am to 4.00pm)

KEY EDUCATION FOR RECENT OR SOON TO BE GRADUATE

Along with the Upper Quadrant Course, this course forms one of the two 'core' units of the Mulligan Concept Program. This 2-day practical workshop provides clinical reasoning strategies and detailed instruction on the unique examination and treatment techniques developed by New Zealand physiotherapist Brian Mulligan. The Mulligan Concept of examination and treatment is one of the most popular approaches used in manual treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Presented by Mr. Mark Oliver (certified Mulligan concepts teacher), Mark has presented Mulligan courses for more than 25 years years and assisted Brian on his courses throughout the world on numerous occasions.
