Rehabilitative Ultrasound Level 1

This course is appropriate for health professionals with an interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound scanning and real time ultrasound imaging (RTUI) for pelvic and trunk core stabilisers. The workshops are presented by Peter Esselbach who has over 20 years experience in practising and teaching medical sonography.

The workshop require no previous tuition and include a comprehensive course manual and a large emphasis is placed on hands on tuition to enable appropriate skill based competency. The existing courses are continually refined and reviewed to ensure relevance to physiotherapists and other medical professionals. A range of ultrasounds will be provided on day for usage and hands on experience.

The scope of the course includes;

• overview of ultrasound scanning for tendons and muscle and how to interpret the images
• basic practical physics, knobology and interpretation of artifacts

Practical demonstration and hands-on training in;

• shoulder ultrasound
• knee ultrasound
• ankle and foot ultrasound
• hip ultrasound

ultrasound guided dry needling techniques

Real time ultrasound biofeedback applications will be discussed for the various areas and how to incorporate these into clinical practice
